Health insurance should not feel like a puzzle. Saintellus exists to help people understand every credible path before they decide — with an honest comparison rather than a one-size-fits-all script.
Most people meet a health insurance advisor at the worst possible moment — a job ending, a diagnosis, a deadline in an envelope. They are handed a list of plans and a price, and asked to make a decision that will shape their finances for a year, using vocabulary nobody ever taught them.
Saintellus was built around the opposite premise: that the explanation is the product. The plan comparison is the easy part. Understanding what you are actually buying is what changes the outcome.
How we work
Independent by design
We are appointed with multiple major U.S. carriers rather than tied to one. That matters more than it sounds: a captive agent can only recommend what their company sells, so the answer to "what is best for me" is constrained before the conversation starts. An independent advisor can tell you the honest answer, including when the honest answer is a competitor's plan or the coverage you already have.
Education before enrollment
Every plan gets walked through before anything is signed — the deductible, the network, the drug tiers, the out-of-pocket maximum, and specifically what happens in a bad year rather than an average one. People who do not understand their plan use it badly, avoid care they have already paid for, and blame the coverage.
Specialised situations
A meaningful share of the practice is people whose circumstances do not fit a template: international entrepreneurs, diplomats, government contractors, owner-operators, households with income that moves month to month. These are the cases where generic advice quietly fails, and where a wrong assumption about residency, income or eligibility costs real money.
Ongoing partnership
The same advisor handles your renewal, your plan changes and your questions when a claim looks wrong — not a different name each year. Carriers evaluate advisors on client retention and satisfaction, which aligns the incentive with your long-term fit rather than the quickest sale.
Language matters in South Florida. The team works in English, Spanish and Kreyòl. Insurance vocabulary is difficult enough in a first language; being walked through a deductible in your own is not a small thing.

Saintellus is led by Mohab H. Saintelus, a licensed health insurance advisor based in Florida, working alongside licensed advisors Simon, Petrina S. and Harold Carvajal. Every person you speak with is licensed. There is no call-centre tier and no handoff to someone who has not read your file.

What it costs
Nothing. Carriers compensate advisors when you enroll, and that cost is priced into the premium whether or not an advisor is involved. Buying direct does not get you a discount; it just removes the person whose job is to compare the market for you. The consultation, comparison, paperwork and ongoing support carry no separate fee.

No. Saintellus is an independent agency appointed with multiple major U.S. carriers. Going direct to a carrier shows you only that carrier's plans; an independent advisor can compare across them. What if I already have coverage?
We will review it at no cost and only recommend a change if it genuinely improves your coverage or your cost. A fair share of these conversations end with 'you are in the right plan, and here is why.' That is a legitimate outcome.
